  • The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce continues to play an active role in supporting local businesses through the reopening & recovery process.

  • From face masks to hand sanitizer, social distancing to staff safety training – more and more local businesses in the Santa Maria Valley are taking steps to safely reopen.

    In accordance with guidelines set by the State of California, Santa Barbara County has now moved through stage 2 of the Governor's Resiliency Roadmap, allowing hair salons and churches to open, and restaurants and retail to serve customers inside their stores in addition to the curbside pickup and delivery options.

    • Small Business and Community Partnership Enhancement Program
      The following information outlines the steps needed to apply for a No-Fee Encroachment Permit from the County of Santa Barbara Public Works Department, for the use of the public road right-of-way. This allows your business to extend the usable space into the public roadway/sidewalk areas within the unincorporated areas of the County of Santa Barbara. A pathway for ADA walking would need to be maintained of 48 inches minimum width through your site plan. Read More
       
    • City of Santa Maria Business Reopening Plan
      The City of Santa Maria and Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce are supporting steps to safely reopen society and the local economy in phases.  The timetable and restrictions will be decided by the County’s Public Health Officer, depending on discretion from the Governor. Read More

       
    • Face Coverings Required on Local Transit
      Until further notice, Santa Maria Area Transit (SMAT) will require face masks or face coverings for both bus operators and passengers - to help limit exposure to COVID-19. This requirement is aligned with the County Health Officer Order 2020-10 Read More
