The City of Santa Maria Recreation & Parks Department and Commission invite you to participate in the 23rd Annual Lights, Sights, & Holiday Nights Holiday Decoration Contest. 

The community can nominate their favorite decorated residence, business, or church and a committee will select the winning displays! A special "Neighborhood Spirit Award" will be given to the neighborhood that best showcases the spirit of the season! 

Awards will be given to winners in the following categories:

• 2019 Best Decorated Rookie Residence - Best decorated new entry. 
• Clark Griswold - Spectacular lighting display with motion lights, music and/or animatronics. 
• Norman Rockwell - Nostalgic displays with a focus on classic elegance. 
• Simply Christmas - Simply decorated homes full of Christmas Spirit. 
• Holiday Hall of Fame - Previous winners selected for the Holiday Tour Map. 

To nominate an entry, please submit up to three (3) photographs of the location, the address of the entry, and a contact phone number for the location (if available). Submit entries to rpinfo@cityofsantamaria.org. Please include "Lights and Sights Contest" in the subject line. 

Nominations accepted November 16th through December 10th. 

Final judging will take place on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00pm to 9:30pm. Please have all lights on during judging hours. 

Only those nominated will be judged. Individuals can nominate their own display. The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Commission will judge nominations within the Santa Maria city limits. Winners will be announced Friday, December 13, 2019 with special recognition given to the winners at the Santa Maria City Council Meeting at 6:30pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
