Member Engagement Opportunities

The Chamber brings the collective resources of the local business community to the table as a key player in finding solutions to local issues.   Members who are looking to make a difference and want to become even more involved are invited to take advantage of these engagement programs.

  • Ambassadors’ Club. 4th Tuesday of every month, 12 noon.  Formed in 1973, the Ambassadors represent the Chamber at ribbon cuttings, volunteer at Chamber events, and generally serve as the face of the Chamber in the community.  Participating as an Ambassador allows you to network with fellow Chamber members, grow your business, and be involved with your community.

  • Merchants Roundtable. 3rd Thursday of every month, 7:30 a.m.  This committee serves to create a combined effort of merchants, organizations, the Chamber, City of Santa Maria, and other available resources to promote the downtown business district.    The committee works to create a welcoming environment in the downtown, including aesthetics and safety.  Additionally, the committee coordinates opportunities designed to bring people into the downtown to conduct business.

  • Transportation Committee. 2nd Monday of each month, Noon.   Recognizing the importance of infrastructure and the ability to move people and goods around as well as into and out of the community, the Chamber and City of Santa Maria partner to host a monthly roundtable discussion.   Representatives from key agencies including the City of Santa Maria, Santa Barbara County, CalTrans, Santa Maria Public Airport, Santa Maria Valley Railroad, and others, provide updates on projects in the implementation or planning stages.
