    Battle of the Badges Competition and Benefit Softball Tournament


    The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the People for Leisure and Youth, Inc., (PLAY) invite contestants and the community to the 1st Annual Battle of the Badges Competition and community softball tournament benefitting PLAY, Inc. The event will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at Hagerman Sports Complex, 3300 Skyway Drive and is sure to be a great time.

    Come out and cheer on employees of the Santa Maria Police and Fire Departments as they battle it out on the softball field to secure the perpetual trophy and more importantly – bragging rights for the year!  The Battle of the Badges game begins at 1:00 p.m. on Field 1 and has free admission. 

    Included in the Battle of the Badges Competition is a Co-ed Community Softball Tournament open to all service clubs, businesses, non-profit organizations and teams made up of family and friends. The tournament starts at 10:00 a.m. and costs $100 per team. Trophies will be awarded to the winners.
