CASA: 510 Children Served this Year!
Friends of CASA,
On the one hand it feels like the middle of summer, and on the other hand, kids are already thinking of going back to school! One of the rewarding things that we are able to do at CASA is to make sure that all of the kids we serve have adequate back to school supplies and clothes. In the past, we have collected backpacks - now, other groups have taken that on as a major focus, and we are able to connect our kids with those resources. Still other years, generous donors have insisted that each of our kids have a special back to school outfit. While we don't have that happening this year, our "kids fund" exists to help any of the kids who are in urgent need - thanks to wonderful CASA supporters like you.
We closed our Fiscal Year on June 30 with an all time record for CASA of Santa Barbara County! We served 510 children, right here in our community, who had experienced the trauma of abuse, neglect, abandonment. Kids who needed someone to advocate for them had that special person, thanks to our nearly 300 CASA volunteers. It's nothing short of inspiring that our community cares so deeply for children less fortunate than themselves.
And we could not do any of this without the individuals and foundations who fund our operations. To that end, I invite each of you to come to our annual fundraiser - formally known as CASA at the Vineyard. Our guests told us for years that they loved the Sunday afternoon event. Last year we switched it up and tried a Saturday evening event, and while it was a great success, we heard you when you told us you like Sunday afternoon. So this year, join us on Sunday, September 15 for the same style event as CASA at the Vineyard - wine tasting, silent and live auctions, and a wonderful full dinner. CASA supporters from all over the county can join us in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, as we hold our event at an amazing new location - the 5th floor Pool Deck at the Chumash Casino Resort! The views are stunning, and the food and wine can't be beat. We are limited to 220 guests - so hurry and get your ticket today! Our annual event usually draws close to 300 people, so we know it will be a sell out crowd! The event - this year called "Make a Splash for CASA" is highlighted by the incredible design of our volunteer event committee and the "Deco Girls" who create a fun, beautiful theme each year with one of a kind decorations. I hope to see you there!
Thank you for all you do to support CASA!
