• Cottage Urgent Care Offers Sports Physicals for $35 Starting June 1 Just in Time for Tryouts

SANTA BARBARA – As the school year winds down, many student athletes are stepping up preparations for next year’s sports season. School teams for fall, winter and even spring sports plan to hold tryouts soon, and students will need to have a completed sports clearance physical exam.
To help meet the requirement, Cottage Urgent Care is offering a reduced rate on the sports clearance exam for $35 starting June 1.
Board certified advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) at Cottage Urgent Care will examine joints and reflexes, review the student’s medical history and note any recent health changes and concerns.
The providers also check for Type 1 diabetes, as the symptoms can seem normal and harmless for athletes engaged in rigorous training. Symptoms of Type 1 diabetes include being overly thirsty, hungry and tired.
Cottage Urgent Care locations are open from 8 am to 8 pm 365 days a year. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. For appointments and more information, visit cottagehealth.org/urgentcare.
The newest Cottage Urgent Care opened recently at 3885 State Street in Santa Barbara. There are 12 other convenient locations in Goleta, Buellton, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo, as well as Ventura, Oxnard and Camarillo.
