Downtown Fridays Return to Santa Maria
Santa Maria’s popular Downtown Fridays will kick off its fifth year on Friday, March 27th with live music from local bands, rows of food vendors, local beer tastings, and new and expanded attractions.
This family-friendly event for Santa Maria’s downtown will occur every Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Town Center West parking lot near Broadway (Highway 135) and Cook Street, all the way to September 25th, weather permitting. Admission and parking are free.
    New this year:
The location is on the north side of the Fallas parking lot, behind Maya Restaurant and near the Boot Barn.
    Beer garden (no wine).
Using the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department “Rec and Roll” stage.
Idlers Home will furnish a free VIP booth with four leather recliners, table, and private space in front of the stage. This can be reserved by sponsors, the City, and VIPs.
The Party Factory will set up a huge Kids Zone with different themes throughout the year.
2 Minions will make a surprise visit on opening night, March 27th.
Last year about 2,500 people attended each Downtown Fridays. The event is a result of the City’s “Downtown Plan” which focuses on ways to help draw in more visitors to the downtown area. The City provides chairs, tables, storage, trash collection, electricity for lighting, and policing.
This community event is a partnership among the City of Santa Maria and local event promoters Ed Carcarey and Sofia Lariz. Questions may be directed to Ed Carcarey at edcarcarey@yahoo.com or (805) 331-4744.
