  • Library of Things Open at the Santa Maria Public Library

    The City of Santa Maria Public Library offers much more than books, magazines, newspapers, databases, and programs.  

    The Library loans out unique and useful items to encourage lifelong learning and to provide learning experiences outside of the Library walls.  Patrons may check out a variety of these items including the following:  Sewing Machine, Ukulele, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, GoPro Camera, Oculus Go Virtual Reality Headset, Digital Camera, Metal Detector, Drum, Telescope, Microscope, Keyboard, Violin, Karaoke Machine, Portable Projector, Cajon Percussion Box, Dremel Rotary Tool, and a Santa Maria Valley Discover Museum Family Pass.  What will you check out from the Library?

    All items are free to check out with a valid Library card.  Items must be picked up and dropped off at the Santa Maria Public Library and only one item may be checked out at a time, per card holder.  Each item may be checked out for three weeks. 

    The Library’s hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Library is closed on Sunday. The Library is located at 421 South McClelland Street.
