The City of Santa Maria Public Library staff is excited to announce that the Main Library will open for limited Grab and Go service beginning Thursday, April 1st. The Library has been closed to the public for one year, due to the pandemic.

Safety protocols aligned with County health orders will be in place, including required face coverings, visits limited to 20 minutes per day, limited capacity, and more.  Computer use and printing will be available with a 20-minute session limit per day.  Please phone ahead to expedite any need for services that may require additional time. Check the Library’s website at www.cityofsantamaria.org/library or call (805) 925-0994 for further information regarding safety protocols prior to planning a visit to the Library, located at 421 South McClelland Street.

The schedule for Grab and Go service at the Main Library will be Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   The first opening hour of each day will be reserved for vulnerable patrons including senior citizens and other at-risk populations. Please note that parking at the Civic Center may be limited for a few days due to a nearly completed construction project.

The Santa Maria Public Library’s main Library, branch Libraries and Bookmobile are open for Grab and Go service in accordance with the local health emergency declared by the County.  Passport services are available by appointment at the main Library. The Library also offers 24/7 digital resources including downloadable eBooks, movies, magazines, and audiobooks. Online databases and programs, email reference service, veterans’ resources, updates about the Library’s operations and more are available online at www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library. Patrons may also apply for a free Library card online.
