Paul Nelson Aquatic Center Spring Programs Return

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is excited to announce the start of spring aquatic programs at the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center for the community to enjoy starting in April. Programs offered include swim lessons for all ability levels, shallow water walking, paddle board yoga, and more. Register for aquatics programs online at www.cityofsantamaria.org/register.

Week-long swim lessons begin the week of April 5th and are available at 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Sessions will be 45 minutes, and limited to three registrations per class to ensure social distancing. Learning to swim is an important life skill that can help prevent drowning and keep time in and around the pool safe and fun.
The new Starfish swim curriculum offers several classes including StarBabies™, StarTots™, Starfish Swim School® and Starfish Stroke School™, Tweens, Adaptive classes, and lessons for adults. Program fees for City residents are $35.00 and for non-City residents, $43.50.
Please note that a parent or a responsible adult caregiver (that lives in the same household) must be in the water with each student for StarBabies™, StarTots™, Starfish Swim School®, Starfish Stroke School™ and Adaptive classes. For the safety of the swim instructors and the participants, instructors will be teaching from the deck. Participants that are not potty trained must use a swim diaper. Proper swim attire must be worn by everyone entering the water.
