Santa Maria Main and Branch Libraries Closed until Further Notice

Effective Tuesday, March 17th, the City of Santa Maria Public Library (main and four branches) will close and all programming is cancelled through March, to protect public health and comply with public health requirements about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Closure signs are being posted today at each Library facility, notifying the public of these closures.

The public can still arrange to pick up holds, get reference help, and place holds on Library materials by calling the local branch or main Library.  Staff will be available to help during the libraries’ regular hours. Book drops are also open at all locations for returning materials.

While closed, the Library offers 24/7 digital resources including downloadable eBooks, movies, magazines, and audiobooks. Online databases, email reference service, veterans’ resources, and more are available including updates about the Library closures by going online to www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library and navigating to its Research webpage. Also, people can get a free Library card online.

The Library’s social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook are another way to stay updated.

Questions may be directed to the City Librarian, (805) 925-0994 extension 2372.
