Santa Maria Public Library Offers Expanded Digital Content

The City of Santa Maria Public Library is pleased to offer new and expanded digital content.

This means more options from which to choose in the online catalog, as well as increased choice in bilingual materials, and less wait time on popular titles.

Two grants, one from the Orcutt Friends of the Library, and the other from the California State Library, were received to purchase additional e-content, such as e-books and e-audiobooks, specifically for patrons of the Santa Maria Public Library jurisdiction

Additionally, at-home access to two popular databases, Ancestry and Kanopy, is now available for a limited time.  Ancestry is the world's largest online family history resource, and provides a large array of genealogical information for those researching family history.  Kanopy offers streaming access to thousands of movies, documentaries and educational videos.  Both are accessible for free with a Library card.

For full access to all the Library’s e-content and databases, simply visit the website at: www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library, click on the digital content platform or database of choice, and type in library card number when prompted.  For assistance, please call the
Reference or Youth Services desk at (805) 925-0994.

The Santa Maria Public Library and branches are closed until further notice due to the Local Health Emergency declared by the County. While closed, the Library offers 24/7 digital resources including downloadable e-books, movies, magazines, and audiobooks. Online databases, email reference service, veterans’ resources, updates about the Library closure and more are available online at the Library’s website. Patrons may also apply for a free Library card online.

Questions may be directed to the Library’s Reference Services Desk by calling (805) 925-0994 extension 8562.
