    Spring Gardening Kits


    The City of Santa Maria Public Library is pleased to continue the Spring Gardening Kit program. The Library will have a limited number of the Gardening Kits available for patrons to enjoy at home. Each kit contains six peat pots, soil, plant markers, and three packets of seeds. This program is open to adults 18 and older. 

    The Gardening Kits will be available at the Main Library from Monday, February 22nd through Saturday, February 27th during sidewalk service hours. Sidewalk Service hours are Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays.  Registration is required and begins on Monday, February 15th. Patrons may register on the Events Calendar at www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library or by calling the Public Library at (805) 925-0994. Please limit one kit per household. 

    Gardening Kits will also be available at the Orcutt Branch Library from Monday, February 22nd through Saturday, February 27th during Grab and Go hours. Grab and Go hours at the Orcutt branch are Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The Orcutt Branch Library is located at 175 South Broadway. The Spring Gardening Kits at the Orcutt Branch Library are available on a first come, first served basis.

    The Santa Maria Public Library’s main library is open for sidewalk pick-up service, and for passport service by appointment. The Branch Libraries and Bookmobile are open for Grab and Go service. Other in-person services are closed due to the Local Health Emergency declared by the County. The Library also offers 24/7 digital resources including downloadable eBooks, movies, magazines, and audiobooks. Online databases and programs, email reference service, veterans’ resources, updates about the Library’s operations and more are available online at www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library. Patrons may also apply for a free Library card online.
