  • USDA Offers Cash Relief for Farmers Affected by the Pandemic

JOIN The Free Webinar October 4th to Learn How to Apply!

    Apply by October 12

Friends, many farmers are not aware of a key program that can put $’s in their pockets to help replace revenue lost due to the COVID-Pandemic. If you lost restaurant accounts or farmers market sales during 2020, or had other pandemic related business losses, CFAP 2 (Corona Financial Assistance Program 2) may be able to help. Interfaith Food is joining with USDA and other partners to help you learn about and apply for this important program. The government plans to make payments totaling up to $1 billion, so apply and don’t miss out. Fruit and vegetable growers and other specialty crop growers can get up 10.6% of their revenue replaced.

The Biden/Harris administration specifically extended the deadline to facilitate more participation from underserved farmers including Black, Latinx, and Asian farmers who have been affected by the pandemic. Farmers must apply by October 12, 2021!

Producers who need to submit a CFAP 2 application or modify an existing one can contact their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office to receive one-on-one support or call 877-508-8364. Answers to frequently asked questions, including eligibility requirements can be found here.

Interfaith Food will host a webinar on Monday, October 4th, 2021 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. to facilitate participation in CFAP 2. Speakers include Sandra Becker and Brooke Raffaele from the state-FSA office and a farmer participant. The workshop will also benefit staff or volunteers from faith-based groups interested in conducting outreach to farmers in their communities.

Pre-registration for this free webinar is strongly encouraged.
