The Special Projects Grants program is designed to support event planners who are hosting their events or projects in Santa Maria Valley, aiming to increase overnight stays in local hotels.
Important Deadlines & Timelines
Submission Deadline: Formal grant applications should be submitted at least six (6) months prior to the event date.
Disbursement: Approved grant checks are typically mailed within two (2) months following the review process. Please plan accordingly.
Applicant Requirements
Applicants must meet these requirements to be considered for funding:
- Must work with Chamber Member Hotels in Santa Maria Valley to generate overnight stays.
- Submit only one (1) event or project per application. Separate applications must be submitted for multiple events.
- Must provide a live, reciprocal link from your official event/organization website to: santamariavalley.com.
Grant Criteria & Funding Usage
Applicants must be able to meet the following criteria:
- The event or project must be physically held within Santa Maria Valley.
- The objective is to increase overnight stays in Santa Maria Valley hotels. Reports will be generated after each event to determine hotel stays connected to your event. Future funding may be adjusted based on the overnight stays generated.
- Grant funds must be used for:
- Marketing, graphic design, or printing
- Radio, print, or online advertising
- Tournament fees
- Grant funds cannot be used for event giveaways, raffle items, or prizes.
- Discover Santa Maria Valley will be named a sponsor of your event or project.
