About Us

SCORE is a national non-profit SBA resource organization whose mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education. Our local Mentors provide no-cost confidential face-to-face mentoring, workshops and online resources to help people start and operate successful businesses in the Santa Maria valley and San Luis Obispo County. Mentoring sessions are held at MIYB, 731 S. Lincoln Avenue, every other Wednesday. In the rare case where we don't have local expertise in a subject, we have access to over 10,000 national mentors for support.
The chapter has been awarded the Platinum Service award 3 years running, placing us in the top 3% of all 310 national SCORE chapters and is among the top 10 chapters in the nation in client satisfaction scores.
SCORE is also looking for experienced businessmen and women from the Santa Maria area to become Mentors (bi-lingual Mentors would be great).
