Leadership Santa Maria Valley is looking for candidates for their 2021 class. The 10 month program is designed to build leaders in the Santa Maria Valley community, give class members opportunities to network and to learn more about local business industries. With COVID-19, this year’s program has made some adjustment to still provide a valuable experience for the class. Leadership Santa Maria Valley Class of 2020 (a program of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce) recently completed 1 of 2 Legacy Projects. Amidst a global pandemic, their class not only built a mobile observatory, which will be ready to unveil in January, but they also wrote a bilingual children's book, Strawberry Moon Says, Goodnight, as their second Legacy Project. Leadership Santa Maria Valley, Class of 2020, would like to thank all of our sponsors that have helped us reach this point in this year’s Legacy project. These projects, a mobile observatory, and bilingual children’s book will be remembered for years to come as having been completed during a pandemic. This class began with a retreat last August and then started their day-long topic days with a tour of Vandenberg Air Force Base in September.
