The Chamber Ambassador program recently recognized Allison Borja of Morris & Garritano as Ambassador of the Quarter!

    Here's a bit about Alli:

Hello fellow chamber members!  My name is Alli Borja, and I'm a proud ambassador for the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.  I am a second generation Central Coast native and was raised in Arroyo Grande with my parents, Sonny and Nina Borja and my 4 siblings.  After I graduated Arroyo Grande High School, I attended Cuesta College, where I played volleyball, while beginning my own family.  I had my three sons then decided to continue to follow my own life goals, first of which is to attend and graduate from Cal Poly.

I finished Cuesta after my third son was born and then applied and got accepted to Cal Poly in the fall of 2005.  My boys and I all went off to school each day and in two years, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and walked the stage with all of my professors with my boys by my side.  I worked at Mclintocks in Shell Beach while I was at Cal Poly.  As a server and trainer there, I learned what excellent customer service is.  From there, I discovered that my true passion lies in helping people.  After Cal Poly, I entered the print marketing world where I further worked on my customer service skills and discovered my consultative and relational style of service at Left Coast T-Shirt Co followed by Poor Richard's Press.

Recently, I have accepted a new role at Morris & Garritano as a Commercial Risk Advisor where I will be putting my skills and passions to use in the business world of insurance.  I am very excited and proud to embark on this new journey with such a professional and well-respected company here on the Central Coast.  Along with being a proud ambassador for the SMVCC and a Risk Advisor at Morris & Garritano, I am also a proud member of THE Rotary Club of Santa Maria where I co-chair the vocational services program.  Today, my boys are 14, 15 and 19.  My youngest son is a freshman and my middle son is a sophomore and both attend my alma matter, Arroyo Grande High School.  My oldest boy will be heading off to the U.S. Marine Corp Boot Camp in March of 2019.  On my off time, I enjoy spending time with my boys, playing volleyball in my two women's leagues, Santa Maria and Paso Robles, going to the beach, watching and following baseball (go Dodgers!), enjoying our local restaurants, and wine tasting.

Congratulations Alli on being recognized as Ambassador of the Quarter!
