• Santa Maria is Safe & Open for Business

As businesses continue to reopen under state and county guidelines, we've checked in with a few of our local businesses to learn more about the steps they are taking to safely reopen to the public.

    Old Town Quilt Shop
    165 W Clark Ave, Orcutt
"We have installed a Plexiglass barrier at the cutting counter, and have hand sanitizer throughout the shop. Masks are required, and we have disposable ones for those who forgot theirs. We are limiting the number of customers in order to better help everyone. We expect our customers to wear a mask at all times, to sanitize their hands upon entering, and to touch as little as possible. We expect them to also observe social distancing measures."

    Jack's in Old Orcutt
    156 S. Broadway St. Suite C, Orcutt
"We hope they will stay home if they are not feeling well. We are following all the guidelines for sanitizing, limited seating, social distancing and educating our staff on every guideline presented. We ask that guests wear their masks until seated and please use the hand sanitizer that is provided in several areas of the restaurant. Please do not come in to dine if you are ill or have symptoms. We are working very hard to keep everyone safe and we appreciate your patience during this time. Please wear a mask until seated and sanitize your hands upon entering."

    ADV Vision
525 East Plaza Dr. Unit 304 Santa Maria
At ADV Vision, we have implemented extra precautions to keep all of our patients and staff safe. Each patient's temperature is taken upon arrival at our clinic. Our clinic has been modified to meet social distancing requirements. Lastly, everyday we have one staff member, our "Safety Champion", screen each staff member with COVID-19 symptom related questions. Their temperature is taken as well. The expectations we have from all of our patients are to maintain social distancing and to wear a mask upon arrival.

    Ghitterman, Ghitterman & Feld
616 E. Chapel Street, Santa Maria
In addition to using remote technologies to meet with clients and perform legal processes like depositions and hearings, we are also preparing for when we do allow clients into the offices by obtaining appropriate plexiglass dividers and PPE, removing lobby furniture and asking that they remain in their vehicle or outside until their appointment. I anticipate many of our clients with co-morbid conditions will be only working with us remotely.

    Urbane Cafe
655 E. Betteravia Rd, Santa Maria
"Since our restaurant is small we are not opening up the inside dining room. We are opening up our patio seating instead. We are sanitizing each table after use or every 10 minutes, whichever comes first. We have social distancing stickers on the floors and a manager always directing traffic. We request that guests wear face masks while inside our restaurant."
