Star Spangled-Splash: Free Family Swim Event

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the People for Leisure and Youth, Inc. are offering a free family swim event, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 3rd at the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center located at 600 South McClelland Street.

The Star-Spangled Splash is a patriotic-themed event for the whole family and includes music by D.J. Pete Ruiz from A Class Act as well as recreation games for children ages 6-12. Bring family and friends to enjoy a fun-filled outdoor event. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch; however, glass containers are not permitted due to safety concerns.

The Paul Nelson Aquatic Center offers an Olympic-size, 50-meter competition pool as well as a recreation pool with a gentle sloping entry. The recreation pool has several water features to entertain younger guests while they stay cool during the summer weather. An adult must be in the water with any child aged five years and under.

Questions may be directed to the Recreation and Parks Department, (805) 925-0951 extension 2260.
