    Teen Trails Hiking Program

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is coordinating three hiking experiences for teens in grades 7 through 12, beginning with a hike at the Black Hill Trail in Morro Bay on Friday, July 29th. Transportation to the trail will be provided from the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, located at 600 South McClelland Street. The shuttles will depart from the youth center at 9:00 a.m. and return at 2:00 p.m.

The series will continue with an excursion to the Reservoir Canyon Trail in San Luis Obispo on Saturday, August 20th, and conclude with a hike of the Pismo Preserve on Saturday, September 17th.

Pre-registration is required for each hike at www.cityofsantamaria.org/register, as space is limited.

The mission of the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is to enrich the lives of the residents of Santa Maria through quality recreation programs and services and to provide safe and well-maintained facilities and parks, while anticipating the changing needs of the community. In addition to programming activities for teens, the department coordinates events and programs for adults, athletes, families, seniors, and youth of all ages.
