    Terrarium in a Jar Zoom Workshop and Activity Kit for Adults


    The City of Santa Maria Public Library is pleased to announce a Terrarium in a Jar Zoom video conference workshop at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26th. 

    Participants will learn how to create and maintain a miniature ecosystem in a jar using the materials in the kit. The demonstration will also provide examples of creative decorations to adorn terrariums. Each kit contains a recycled jar, soil, moss, and one small succulent. This program is open to adults 18 and older.

    A limited number of Terrarium in a Jar kits will be available to pick-up at no charge, at the Main Library from Monday, May 17th through Saturday, May 22nd during regular library hours.  The current Grab and Go hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. 

    Registration is required and begins on Monday, May 10th. Patrons may register on the Events Calendar at www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library or by calling the Public Library at (805) 925-0994. Please limit one kit per household. 

    The Santa Maria Public Library’s main Library, branch Libraries and Bookmobile are open for Grab and Go service in accordance with the local health emergency declared by the County.  Passport services are available by appointment at the main Library. The Library also offers 24/7 digital resources including downloadable eBooks, movies, magazines, and audiobooks. Online databases and programs, email reference service, veterans’ resources, updates about the Library’s operations and more are available online at www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library. Patrons may also apply for a free Library card online.
