    Natalie Rucobo

What is your profession/job title and how long have you been with the company?

My title is Advancement Specialist. I have been with the Allan Hancock College Foundation for about a year and a half now. Prior to this I was with the American Cancer Society in San Luis Obispo County.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Giving back and the atmosphere on campus. We are all supporting student success and the next generation. Working at the Foundation has allowed me to give back to the college that allowed me to – Start Here. Go Anywhere, and I am forever grateful for that.

Outside of work, how are you involved in the local community?

I am a member of the Santa Maria Valley Rotaract Club, which is a young professionals group that takes part in various service projects within the community. This was one of the best decisions I made when coming back to work in this community. I have met some of the best people that all gather together to give back to our community.

What are your goals for the future?

I think my overall goal is to stay in the nonprofit sector and to grow within this field. I love the people I work with and the mission of the Foundation. I was able to learn and grown so much within a year – that it excites me to see what next year has in store.

The best thing about the Santa Maria Valley is… The People. Our community is one of a kind and it is inspiring how we always rally together for a good cause.
